HUGE VERDICTS
THE TWO HIGHEST REPORTED MESOTHELIOMA VERDICTS IN LOUISIANA HISTORY
- In 2006, Lewis Unglesby won the highest mesothelioma survival action verdict in Louisiana history at $5,000,000 against Exxon. Exxon appealed the verdict, but Mr. Unglesby successfully had the decision upheld. Seven years later, Mr. Unglesby won the second highest reported mesothelioma verdict at $3,800,000 against Entergy. That case was upheld on appeal as well.
FAMED RAPPER LIL BOOSIE FOUND NOT GUILTY
- Despite a gunman’s taped confession that famed musical artist Torence “Li’l Boosie” Hatch paid him to murder a man named Terry Boyd, Boosie was unanimously acquitted of First Degree Murder charges. The jury took less than an hour to deliberate and deliver the verdict. After detectives called the taped confession an “ace in the hole,” Mr. Williams pointed out that it was a poker saying, a game of deceit. “This man has been innocent. I thank God that the truth came out.”

$29.5 MILLION FROM HAZARDOUS WASTE COMPANY FOR LOUISIANA
- For years, Louisiana residents were forced to experience pollution from a nearby hazardous waste facility. After successfully having the facility shut down, the Unglesby Lawyers in New Orleans obtained over $29.5 million for the nearby residents. The action was certified by a district court judge as a class action after a week of testimony that proved the facility was not using the proper methods in discarding the waste.
AFTER THE STATE IS BEATEN AT TRIAL, FEDERAL PROSECUTORS RETREAT
- Tragically, both State and Federal prosecutors pursued charges against a mother after her son was convicted of murder, attempting to incarcerate her alongside him. Mr. Williams successfully defended Ms. Vanessa Johnson against the State at trial and was able to communicate her innocence to an Orleans Parish jury. Shortly thereafter, the Federal Government voluntarily dismissed all charges against Ms. Johnson as well. Read more about it here.
